What Is The Bare-Knuckle Boxing Hall of Fame?
The Bare-Knuckle Boxing Hall of Fame or BKHOF is a museum dedicated to bare-knuckle boxing. The building itself was the headquarters for bare knuckle boxing champion John Sullivan. The facility itself was once owned by William Muldoon, a wrestling champion who moved on to bare knuckle boxing. The museum is physically located in Belfast, New York.
The museum honors fighters and other key figures in the sport. For example, the Bare-Knuckle Boxing Championship Hall of Fame inducted the National Police Gazette for its role in promoting classic fights; the publication has reported on sports for more than a century. The Police Gazette Boxing Corporation is the oldest sanctioning body of bare-knuckle boxing; they have been in operation continuously since the late 1800s.
